38 Eagles 13 Bears
After a 37-9 drudging of the Dallas Cowboys in Dallas, the Eagles are 9-1. With a nice home match-up against the 3-7 Chicago Bears, the Birds look to make it 10-1 before heading on a tough road trip against the Seahawks, Rams and Giants.
This is a very lopsided game from any angle you look at it. The Bears have only scored 20+ points in three out of their ten games. The Eagles have not scored less than 26 points in ANY of their ten games. That is good for 32 points per game which is 1st in the league. The Bears have been very solid on the defensive side of the ball, but they could potentially have some players out with injury which will make it much harder for them to deal with this potent Eagle’s offense.
The Eagles also have one of the most dominant defensive units in football. That will make things very tough for rookie quarterback Mitch Trubisky. I have a feeling that he is going to have a LONG day with the Eagles defensive lineman constantly in his face.
There isn’t too much more to be said. This should be a very lopsided game.
PHI -13.5 : This is a no-brainer. The Eagles are 8-2 against the spread this year and that won’t change this afternoon. The Eagles cover.
Eagles Key Offensive Player of the Game:
I have not done this all year because it is too easy, but I think it is very fitting today. Carson Wentz is going to be the offensive key to the game for the Eagles. What can’t this guy do? He has a 5:1 TD to INT ratio and a 103.4 passer rating despite being the most blitzed quarterback in the NFL. This guy should be the MVP and will continue that argument today as he carves up this Bears defense.
Eagles Key Defensive Player of the Game:
I am going to go with the Eagles cornerbacks today. I think with the Eagles defensive line being able to get pressure at will, these corner backs are going to eat. The only thing limiting their effectiveness is if the Bears only let Trubisky throw the ball seven times (which has happened this year). The Bears could very easily just hand the ball off all day, which would limit the corner’s effectiveness, but if they choose to throw the ball I think we could see quite a few interceptions. With Darby back and Patrick Robinson/Jalen Mills playing at a very high level, this group is going to have a great day.
I am predicting that either:
A) The Eagles will allow three points or less
B) The Eagles will sack Mitch Trubisky on 25% or more of his drop backs
